I enjoyed doing the movie maker projects because I really do think that working on this program is just fun! You get to watch the video you made yourself and even put music to match with the videos. I just love making videos, changing transitions and add special effects!

Even though there's mosquitos, but they don't usually bite me, so I think its pretty romantic because of all those beautiful trees and fresh air.

Dragon boat FESTIVAL - - June 02

During the dragon festival ...
Well, I had LOTS of FUN! because all I did during the whole entire four day weekend was SLEEP. However, I did finish a really really FABULOUS book and it just came out. Its the fifth book of Percy Jackson and the Olympians - The Last Olympian. That series of book is the only book I love to read so far. On friday night, I stayed up until 3 AM in the morning and woke up at 3 pm in the afternoon the next day. It was a very long long 12 hour sleep. I wouldn't have a boring weekend if my mom and dad didn't made us stay at home in Taichung!

May 27 - - - Dragon Boat FESTIVAL !

During the Dragon Boat festival, I will ...
I will do NOTHING! Because unfortunately, I won't get to go to Taipei and have fun with my cousins because I have to stay in Taichung with my sister. We'll be home alone : ( Since semester final exams are coming up, my sister has to stay at home and study and so I can't go anywhere else either! I bet our holiday would be boring boring boring, bored to DEATH! WAHHH :"(
I'm still wondering what we're going to do this weekend. But I want to go swimming so we might go exercising, which is fine with me! : )

May 25 - - - videos!

I enjoy a video if ...
I think I would really enjoy a video if its funny, interesting and creative. I like videos with very cool transitions or effect like the video that Eric made. The only program I've used to make videos is MOVIEMAKER, so it would be new to me to see other videos created using other softwares. I really like videos with a very attractive theme with match music or theme song that goes along with it. Music or songs are very important because it makes the audience's brain follow along emotionally.

May 21,, Games!

I think games are just so lame and boring, especially computer games. Most of my friends are addicted to playing computer games like action and adventure games, but I really don't get why. I really hate playing games because the only thing you do is win or lose, win or lose and THAT'S IT ! You get tired of it because it doesn't make you think and it only makes you nervouse and then excited~ SO LAME! I don't like playing games!

I want to learn more about this website. At first, I was just looking at the logos of each website, but later on, I started going to the website. Then, I applied effects, I added text and even uploaded some images. I found out that these websites were too cool and awesome to be true ! I mean its free and you can do so many things with the picture you selected! It's just sooo coool ! Okay, sorry, I'm suppose to limit this to one sentence! : P

I like blogging because...
Blogging is an activity for people around the world to share what they got in their minds. I really like to express my feelings and sometimes special events that happened to me. Before, in Mrs.Marcon's class, we get to share what we did during the weekends and express our ideas to the classmates. However, now we don't get to do that, so I really like blogging because I get to tell people about what I did during holidays or my opinions on a specific event. Now, I express my feelings and share ideas through my words instead of talking. yep! : D

If I make a video, I'm going to include several parts to it. I am going to add music and transitions and some very interesting effects. Movie maker is a really useful program that people can use because you can do anything to your video. Some effects are really cool because you can do slow motion or make it black and white. The transitions are very neat too! You can also change the volume in the music you applied to the video. Making a movie is just one of the best things you can do during free time.

Happii mOtHeR's Dayy !

Mother's day was not special but fun. Our family had to go to Taipei to visit our grandmother and celebrate for mother's day. However, we ate our lunch at home but the food was awesome! My sister and I didn't eat with the family and instead we ate our lunch outside in the garden with soft wind blowing against our hair, birds chirping and my dog sleeping comfortably on my leg. It was really nice eating outside on the grass. I also had fun picking flowers for my mother in the garden. Afterall, I did have an amazing time with my cousins and my family members! : )

The search tips that the video metioned are really useful and practical. Some of the tips are using minus signs, dashes, opera browser, plus sign, tracking numbers, flight numbers, define:, filetype, use "*" to fill in blanks, number range search, price range, movie title & zipcode, "site:" or "site: domain". These are all the tips that searchers can use by getting more specific informations.

yayy! USA! MY HOME! : P - - May 01

If I ever go to USA, I hope to visit ... ???
Well, I would actually like to visit so many different places all over USA! HEHE! I hope to visit Disneyland again because every year, my aunt will bring my sister, my cousin and I to the Disneyland in California. I went there for about 10 times already and I have ALWAYS enjoyed playing on so many different rides! It's just a great place for me to relax and SCREAM! I LOVE DISNEYLAND and I hope to go there this summer! The second place I hope to visit is Yosemite National Park at San Francisco again too! Because Yosemite has crispy fresh air, tall green trees, and so many wild life! Listening to the Yosemite Fall splashing the water is just so enjoyable. I would also want to vist the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) because it's MY DREAM SCHOOL! I really hope in the future I would be able to get into this university even though I know I have to work very hard for it. OH! I forgot another place - The Huntington Library! The environment there is MARVELOUS because it has gardens, art works, statues and so many other fascinating things that we could learn there! : P

My UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND!

I had a great time during this weekend. I stayed at home the whole weekend however I watched something that really surprises me on youtube. Since we are now reading the play about the Diary of Anne Frank, I decided to watch the movie. The scenes of them suffering is sooo not imaginable and you can't just use words to describe the misery. Before, I remember mr.mcdonnell telling us about how harsh and cruel the Nazis German soldiers were, but the only thing i knew that time was just simply scary, miserable, painful and harsh. But I never get to really feel how bad they're suffering and feeling. Now, I realize the ugliness! Whenever someone dies, people nearby sleeping would get up and take off clothes of the dead person to keep themselves warm. They have no food, no bed, no clothes and nothing to stop the disease to spread. I really can't imagine how painful it would be for me if I needed to suffer this kind of ____. (i really can't express it just with words)

Learn EXCEL quicker ! LET'sGO : ) 4/29/09

I will learn excel quicker, if I do more practice that relates it in real life. This can tell us that when can we really use excel in a proper and practical way and not just doing lessons. My father ALWAYS uses excel and I never see him using Microsoft Word. He is really good in using excel and he uses it to make charts of chemical reactions and calculate the numbers and sometimes he even teaches me. Another way to learn excel quicker would be playing games and memorzing the terms and different functions just like what mr.marcon tells us to do. These are all really practical ways for students to get used to use Excel.

Apr 24 $$1000000$$ - - - MONEY !

If I had a $1000000, I would ...
Hmm... I think it would surely be IMPOSSIBLE for me to get sooo much money. However, if God loved me so much and gave me those money, I would use it to do several things. First, I'll donate some of it to elders and disable kids. Secondly, I'll give half or more of it to my parents because they really did work very very hard to pay for my school tuition which is very expensive. My father have to earn extra working hours everyday in order to have enough money to pay for both my sisters and my school tuition and daily needs. So, I think it would be time for me to repay the care and love I received from them. The rest of them will be MINE! HAHA!!! I would use it to buy beautiful things for myself and also my mother since she really likes expensive bags and wallet. I will also use it to buy my own needs for example pretty clothings or shoes. Sighh... unfortunately, these things won't be able to come true : (

TAIMUN VII - - - What I learned ?

What I learned from having MUN here was...
My only comment for MUN this year is AWESOME ! I learned so much knowledge from TAIMUN! I learned how to not be nervous when standing on the stage, speak confidently and debate skillfully. I learned how to be socialable and interact with other people in my committee. I am very proud of myself because I started to realize how it feels to become a strong delegate. I just wish TAIMUN here in our school could last forever and being in the environment committee with Carol Lin as our chair is just tooo perfect! This experience will be unforgettable and I feel very great being a prepared delegate. Not only did a few clauses from my resolution got submitted into the merged resolution, the main submitter even yield the floor to me. TAIMUN VII is SUPER AMAZING! Unfortunately its OVER : (

April 14 - - - GLOBAL STUDENT >??

I think I am a global student because ...
Well, everyone can become a global student in many different ways. I personally think I am a global student because I learn other languages from different countries and cultures, so I would be able to understand their own unique style of living. I also think that I am not completely a global citizen because I have only been to places and schools in Taiwan to help disabled kids or company with seniors. Everone in this school are global citizens because they learn other cultures and history of all countries around the world from the teachers and not just their own country. The last point about being a global student is to RESPECT other people's own culture, religion or race.

April 10 - - - SHORT CLASSS

I prefer 90 mintues classes ...
It is because that if we have shorter class time that would mean we will have more classes and if we have more classes, students will need to bring more books to school. This could become annoying so I will prefer 90 minutes per classes by concentrating on only four classes a day instead of 8 classes per day with 45 minutes. Plus, students won't be able to fully concentrate on their classwork in the short 45 mintues. I believe students will be able to calm down and start focusing in a longer time.

April 08 - - - Make a Difference!

I could make a difference in reaching the UN goal of _______________ by ________ ???
Well, I think I could make a difference in reaching the UN goal of ensure environmental sustainability by doing several activities to help our mother planet Earth. We can create a club to make speeches around the world. This could make some difference by telling people and spreading ideas about saving our environment. I will tell them that we have only one planet and that's Earth, if we destroy it, there will be no chances at all for humans to avoid the threat of facing extinction. I will also recommend school to have classes talking about our environment ensuring the sustainability. Saying it seems to be very easy but actually doing it will be a challenge. So, I'll start doing community service to protect our nature and I'm sure its worth it.

The goal I would like to work on is ensure environmental sustainability. The reason is because if our Earth really got destroyed then there won't be anyways to save it. So, I think its better to start making our planet a healthier place.

BACK from HOLIDAY! - - - April 02

It was a ______ holiday! because ...
I think it was a MARVELOUS holiday. I did not go anywhere except for my Taipei house. I went visiting my grandma in the hospital and she's been doing fine however the doctors are still looking after her carefully. At Taipei, the weather was not so good with some rain but we still had some fun. We went making Brittle Plums but these Taiwan plums look different because it's way smaller and it has a color of apple green. It was a special but tiring experience! When we arrive to Taichung, I knew rest of my holiday would be boring because I have no where to go. Fortunately, my mom took us to shopping and afterwards we went swimming. My sister also baked some delicious cookies and carrot & bannana cakes HERSELF, WITH NO HELP! IT WAS VERY VERY GOOOOD! During this spring break, the happieset event I did was volunteering. I went to a school for blind kids and I get to help out. I played with them, sang with them, communicate, interact, taught them math, had ceramic classes with them! Everything I did with them was very very fun because I learned so many things. People might think those blind disabled kids are disgusting but I don't think so because some of them are very very cute! Eventhough some kids had autism and some can't talk, I feel very happy spending time with them.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to accomplish everything on my list that I was planning to do.
But I did go exercising, because on the first week, I went running at a very big park near my house and I also went biking.

March 19: To-do list

On this holiday, I hope to do the following five activities...
There is a lot of fun activities that I will be able to do during this spring break holiday, and I surely will get to RELAX !

1. Go swimming at least 5 times during this holiday & exercise such as running or badminton.
2. Heal my poor pinky finger so I will be able to play basketball during PE and type faster in computer class.
3. Play with my cousins, my dog, and RELAX! Including sleeping at least 10 hours each night.
4. Amuse myself by reading more books and learn more vocabulary words for my future good.
5. Lastly, HAVE FUN & ENJOY the whole holiday without listening to my parents yelling.

I hope I will be able to get enough rest to begin a new fourth quarter that's coming up soon! Time seem to pass by so fast! My last school year in middle school is about to END! : (

March 17 - - - INTERNET !

If I controlled the Internet ... What would I do?
Well, I would create more and more useful website for users to use and research on. I would set up a rule for website creaters and have them create websites that are only approprate for students 10 years old above with no dirty words and disgusting thinkings. Then I would have them to pay me in order to have their own website to work in the Internet! However, I wouldn't force users to pay me but they could if they would like to donate some to my Internet company. Some students coming from a poor family would also like to use my Internet resources but they just couldn't afford it! So, I don't really want them to pay and as long as they feel convenient and happy, I'll be satisfy : )

March 13 --- "BESTEST" weekend!

My favorite weekend is when I get to go to my grandparent's house which is in Taipei.
Over there in my Taipei house I get to spend time with my cousin and relax~ It's great staying there because we live in the mountains and the view is awesome there!
The GOOD news this week is that I get to go to my Taipei house! However, we are not going there just for fun, we are going there to visit my grandma who is really sick and ill. She is still in the emergency room at the hospital unfortunately : ( Sighhh... Hope she gets well soon!
Anyways, I'm still looking forward spending time with my dog and my cousins! : ) YAY!

March 11. Best Photoshop So FAR !

So far, I liked doing assignment ____, because...
Well, actually so far, I liked doing assignment the Photoshop Text. We get to do chrome text, frozen text and flame text. I liked it a lot because of the effects that it does to the word and I never thought photoshop will be able to do these unique fonts.
I also liked doing the assignment Auckland and the Ice pictures. For Auckland, we're suppose to draw darker clouds and I think the effect makes it look very realistic. For the Ice picture we did saturation and other tools changing the background color using the brush tool and I thought that the color turned out to be very special and abstract.
Overall, I think every assignment we did was all great and I love it because everytime I get to learn something NEW !

March 09: FUN at assembly !

Assemblies are fun if ... ?
Well, I personally think that assemblies will be fun if different classes acts out a movie or drama play during the assembly. For example, our computer class can act out a scene about using computers and having some people be different characters like teachers or students having conversations. However, I really would like to see more plays performed by the high school drama members, because they're super super good actors/actress. If they are able to perform their plays during assembly, it would be so AWESOME! I think that our computer class could spend some time brainstorming about a play we could perform during assembly. We can act out this whole scene probably on the stage. This scene could be about a bad kid using too much computer or a student having no computers at home! hehe : P

March 05 - ASSEMBLY !

I wish that when we go to the assembly we could watch a video or movie acted out by the high school drama members. The reason is because their actings are wonderful and it can also make the audience laugh. I would like my school day to end with happiness and not about worrying about tests or grades. However, I still kind of like the assembly that we have every Monday because it gives us time to calm down, rest and get news about what is going these days for school activities. It's GREAT !

Feb. 26. UNIFORMS !

Uniforms? No, of course not. Why SHOULD we have uniforms?
I don't think having uniforms in AST is a good idea.
Because we all have our own unique style of dressing ourselves but uniforms makes us look all the same! Sometimes we should make our own choice of how we want ourselves to look! Uniforms are not always a good idea!

Feb24. HOT TIPS !

Three hot tips for using photoshop are ...

1. First, if you find it difficult to be accurate with the Paintbucket hold down the Shift key. The mouse cursor changes to a crosshair - the center of which is the aim point.
2. Second, move images side by side with Windows>Documents>Tile(Window Arrange in Photoshop CS).
3. This is for fixing the balloon picture. Rotate the String layer for a perfect fit. Do this by positioning the mouse OUTSIDE the transform box and then moving the mouse.

My FAVORITE tools are the Gradient tool and the Move tool. The reason is because I really like the colors and effects for the gradient because colors can mix together or fade. It comes out very pretty! I also like the move tool becacause you can make the image move a little by little with the arrow keys. And it moves it exactly where we want it to be. AWESOME!

Feb 20. NO COMPUTERS ??!!

What would I do if there were no computers....
This world would be very inconvienient if there were no computers. First, students who would need to do research for school wouldn't have enough information because the only source they could get is from the library books. Second, teachers would have a hard time grading and recording student's grades. Lastly, people who wants their homework to be neat would have to write it themselves with their hand. However, it would be sometimes better if the computers doesn't exist. Because, students won't be able to concentrate on their homeworks and be busy playing computer games. Parents would have a hard time to stop them either. But, without computers, people can't contact with each other so easily.
So, overall, I think this world would be very inconvenient without computers.

Feb. 18 - LEARNING !

I learn and remember best when ...
Hm... I think I learn best when I explore things myself, because I will know what I am doing and remember clearly of what the steps are. I usually learn best when taking notes and reading it out loud. This is one of my ways to study for tests in school. Whenever there's a science test, I'll usually pretend i'm a teacher teaching about the subject to the empty air. While i'm teaching sometimes problems and questions comes up. I also learn best when I'm staying in a very quiet place because nothing will disturb my mind. yep! That's it!

Feb.16 THE LEAST !

The part of computer class I like the least is when...
Well, I actually like this computer class so I can't think of any part that I dislike or like the least. However, sometimes when I look at the computer too long my eyes gets very dry and soar which makes me feel very uncomfortable. That's all.
It's great learning photoshop and practice typing!
I think I would enjoy rest of the computer basic classes during the year! :D

Feb 12 - Computer Class

So far, the best part of this class is ...
Well, this class is great, I mean everything seems to be going very well.
First, we get to learn so many photoshop techniques, and I'm looking forward to learn a lot more. After I'm use to using photoshop, I can edit my own pictures and other stuff.
Secondly, I also get to practice my speed for Mavis Beacon. I have a great news today. I was playing the typing games and my speed was 104 wpm!!!!!! I can't believe it! and I also only got 2 mistakes. Yes!!!! But, that's only for the typing games not speed test. For my speed test, my highest so far was 84 wpm. Yep!

Feb.10 - - HOMEROOM !

I wish that in homeroom we could ...
Well, in homeroom, we usually spend our time silent reading. However, Mr,McDonnell, our homeroom teacher sometimes show us funny and interesting videos that people send him.
In homeroom, I really hope we could come to the computer lab and spend time on anything we want. For example, people who want to play computer games can play or people who want to practice typing. It can be like our freetime! But sometimes when I have a really good book to read, I would want our homeroom time to be all for reading. Sometimes I even want our homeroom to be a time for us to finish our homework so at home we will be able to review and study for tests. It would also be great for homeroom to switch to the morning because if we're tired we'll be able to sleep during that time. HEHE! What a great idea! (but impossible)

Feb. 06. World BOOK !

What I liked about this website was the specific information that it provides with any subject. Every subtitle are also organized neatly so it's easy for readers to get research of what they want. There are also several videos and pictures provided to show the readers more example of the subject it's finding. It also tells us the primary sources of the articles that we are researching. The most special thing about this great website is that you can even save the research! So, if you would like to keep this research then it would be very convenient.
What I did not like about this website was sometimes when you type in a different subject it would give you very detailed information. Once I typed in an astronomer's name, there was only one source or article about the person. This did not give me enough detailed information for our science project.
However, overall, I think it is a pretty unique website because at least it doesn't give you sources that has virus or about something completely different. That's GREAT!

Feb.04 Back from HOLIDAY : (

Over the holidays, the things I enjoyed the most were ...
GUESS WHAT? There are several things that I get to enjoy during the holidays.
Firstly, I had a great fun time spending time taking pictures with my cousins. We were playing at the front yard of my Taipei house with my dog. Breathing fresh air, lying on the grass and looking at the azure sky was just fabulous! Secondly, during the dinner, our family gather together with kids at a seperate table. Even though we didn't really get to drink wine, I still got to drink some from my uncle. HEHE! At night, as stars started glimmering, we played firecrackers with all my cousins and my dog even got scared. I enjoyed everything during this holiday not only because I got more money but I also had a memorable week with my cousins from Japan. I just hope that we could have another holiday coming up, unfortunately, there aren't any. It's time for me to work hard now! p.s - I also enjoyed sleeping til 12 o'clock at lunch everyday. TEEHEE!

Jan 21. Last day before the HOLIDAY !

This is what I learn in photoshop in this week. Firstly, I learned about several tools like the brush, magic wand, eyedropper, lasso and the cropping tool. Before I was always afraid to use photoshop because I have forgotten several techniques, but now I felt very proud after I learned so many skills for photoshop. Today is the last day before our new year holiday starts and I feel very glad! Time to RELAX! haha! Today I even made a new year card for my mom and dad out of photoshop. Jan 19 - Journal

Today I encountered some problems on my blog, however somehow it is resolved so I get to post new posts. I'm going to explain what is pixel first. Pixel is the smallest portion or square of a picture and it usually looks like a colored dot. A group of pixel makes up a picture. Next, I'm going to talk about magic wand and it is a tool from photoshop. A magic wand is a selection tool based on color so if you want to select an area of the color blue, this tool will help a lot.

During this new year vacation, the kids get red envelope with money inside! Even though the money in the envelopes is only about one thousand and I heard that my friends get ten thousand for each envelope, I'm still pleased. There are a lot more people in this world that doesn't even get to have any so I will NEVER ask for more. The money I get will be saved in my treasure box hidden in my house. I don't think I will ever want to spend it. I am going to save it for myself in the future. HEHE! What a great idea! : )

Jan 15 - new posts!

Photoshop is a program that you could use to fix pictures. There are several techniques that could be learned in this software. Firstly, it's the tool that can crop photos or pictures. Cropping is just like cutting part of the picture we want. You are able to remove the outer parts of the image and fix the framing of the picture by using the crop tool. When flattening an image, it is just like putting all the layers together on to the background layer. An example is like what we did with the Statue of Liberty, because we put on the cutted layers together back into one image with the background layer. Wow... there are so much more to learn in photoshop! : )

Jan 13 - - JOURNAL

A user interface is like how the user interact with computers. Keyboards is an example of a user interface because you can use it to talk to the computer. The movement of a computer mouse can also be an example because you can use it to click on pictures or websites. Voice is an user interface too! Because you can talk to the computer through your voice just like using Skype. An icon is a small picture that shows us a program or software. A URL is an address of a website that tells us exactly where to go to find the specific resource. Everyone that has a blog have there own URL. The typing speed I have for today is 58 wpm which is not very fast. I am going to practice more on the number keys because that is my weakness.

Before I go on the holidays, in this class, I want to get my typing speed to over 65 wpm. When I practiced the number keys, my typing speed drops because I haven't practice enough. I also want to have good techniques for doing photoshop before our holiday starts. I hope I will be used to using blog by then and know how to post videos or doing anything on my blog. YEP! YEP!

Firstly, I would check my email and see if there is anything new going on. Then, I will check my blog and facebook because I usually go to the Home page to check out other people's new posts. Guess what I'll do next? Play computer games? NOPE! I would go on youtube and watch videos. I like to watch some episodes of several romantic movies. Some of them are from Korea and some are Taiwan shows. The reason I watch the videos very frequently is because I really like one of the characters. He is SUPER HANDSOME! <3333>
The one free hour for me to use computer is very very precious! Muahahaha! ♥

MS computer Journal : D

My new elective for second semester is MS computer basics. You know what? I'm actually having lots of fun in this class. We get to practice more typing and learn more about photoshop. I believe i'm going to receive a lot more techniques about computers by the end of the semester. My first goal for this computer class is to get my typing speed over 75 wpm! GO! GO! Emily!!! I can do it! hehe :P
